Silence can create change! That’s why every year hundreds of thousands of students across the world take a vow of silence on a Friday in April. This quiet but powerful, student-led action raises awareness about the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and discrimination. Anyone can organize a Day of Silence activity or event, and it can be a powerful way to band together and take a stand. Learn more at GLSEN.
Held the last Friday of every month during the school year, the International STAND UP to Bullying Day is a special event in which people across the world who have signed a special "pledge shirt" join together in wearing them to
1) Send a loud, non-confrontational message of resistance to bullies
2) Identify themselves to victims as a source of support willing to help
3) Draw attention to the effects of bullying and stimulate passive bystanders into action
Defeat the Label presents Stand4Change 2015! Register online for the event and receive a toolkit of resources and activities to help students take a stand in their schools and communities against bullying behavior.
